Lounge in a Coffee Shop
You’ll find plenty of coffee shops scattered around Bozeman. Treeline on Wallace has a great atmosphere and plentiful outdoor seating in the summer. Rockford has a large space and an industrial feel. Roly-Poly has a funky vibe and sells their (fantastic) coffee in cans. But the list doesn’t end there; just take a stroll down Main Street and you’ll find several more.
Grab a Bite at a Restaurant
There are tons of great restaurants in Bozeman, from casual brunch spots to classy dinner joints. For breakfast, check out The Western Cafe for classics like chicken-fried steak and biscuits and gravy. Their decor is some of the best in Bozeman, and don’t leave without a homemade cinnamon roll!
For lunch, try Brigade, one of Bozeman’s most popular spots. Definitely get the truffle fries with your meal! Copper’s slogan is, “Come for the food, stay for the whiskey,” and with numerous burger options, hand cut steaks, and of course, a large selection of whiskies, you’ll want to add this to your list. Five on Black’s Brazilian-inspired fare or one of the famous sandwiches at Fink’s Delicatessen. And for dinner, Blackbird and Little Star Diner are fantastic upscale options with creative culinary creations. Or, head to Montana Ale Works for a more casual vibe (but with food that’s still amazing).
Learn at Montana Science Center
Kids (and adults) will love Montana Science Center. With an assortment of hands-on, engaging exhibits, they’ll be entertained all day. Each activity will show you just how much fun science can be!
Get Active at Jump Time Bozeman
There’s something for everyone at Jump Time Bozeman. Test your skills on the Ninja Warrior Course, play Slam Dunk Basketball, or climb up the Storm Castle Tower for a thrilling jump (with a soft landing).
Get Artsy at Arts on Fire
Let your creativity run wild at Arts on Fire. Pick your favorite pottery piece and paint it however you’d like! After you’re done painting, they’ll fire it for you so you can take it home.
See Fossils at the Museum of the Rockies
The Museum of the Rockies is definitely one of the most popular places to visit on a rainy day. With a planetarium, Children’s Discovery Center, and large assortment of dinosaur fossils, it’s impossible to get bored. Remember to look for Big Mike, the museum’s life-size bronze sculpture of a Tyrannosaurus rex, out front!
Catch a Show
Bozeman has so many theater and concert venues. You’ll find a bit of everything at The Ellen Theatre: musicals, plays, live music, movie screenings, and more. See who’s playing at The Elm, the Rialto, The Filling Station, or Live From the Divide. Laugh along with local stand-up comedians at Last Best Comedy. There’s almost always something going on in Bozeman.
Go Shopping on Main Street
Take a stroll down Main Street and pop into some of the many shops that line the sidewalks. Intrigue Ink sells Montana-inspired screen printed clothing and accessories. Check out Heyday for a large assortment of home decor, candles, jewelry, and more everyday lifestyle products. For Western-inspired clothing, boots, hats, and more, head to Head West. Shoot Some Arrows
Head straight to Straight 6 Archery to experience the largest indoor 3D range currently in the state. Shop their extensive gear collection or just shoot some targets. They even have membership options for those who want to practice often!
Grab a Drink
Bozeman has plenty of great places to sip on a cocktail or enjoy a beer. Head to Brigade from 3PM to 6PM any day of the week for amazing happy hour prices ($3 martinis and draft beers!). If whiskey is more your thing, there is no place better than Copper with their huge selection of whiskies from all over the world! For amazing views of Downtown Bozeman and beyond, head to Sky Shed. You’ll find it atop the Kimpton Armory Hotel, which at nine stories, is the tallest building in Bozeman! For some seriously gorgeous scenery, grab a pint at Map Brewing Company. The massive windows look out over Glen Lake and the Bridger Mountains, with a patio for guests to dine on during the warmer months.
Try Plonk for a classy atmosphere with fun cocktails. From Wednesday to Sunday, Tune Up usually has live music. Love whiskey? Go back to the 20s at Devil’s Toboggan and enjoy the speakeasy vibe. Or check out the 70s-inspired bar in the same area, It Will Always Be That Way. And if you want a classic dive bar, you’re in luck: Bozeman also has plenty of those. Check out The Molly Brown Bar, The Crystal Bar, The Cannery, or The Haufbrau.
Workout at Spire Climbing Center
Climbing at Spire is a great way to spend the afternoon. Or, an entire day! With 60+ top rope and lead routes, over 10 auto belays, and two separate bouldering areas, there’s enough to keep you busy for several hours. You can even work out in the fitness area upstairs or take a yoga class.
Take an Exercise Class
There are so many fun fitness classes to take in Bozeman. Check out Söl Barre for upbeat barre classes bound to make you sweat. Ekam Yoga offers everything from fast-paced power yoga to relaxing yin classes. Get a serious leg workout at Zephyr Cycling Studio. You can even take a class geared towards a specific activity, like cycling or running, at The Mountain Project. If you’ll be around for a while, check out their ski season training or hunting conditioning programs.
