Check Out Fall Football Games at MSU | October to Mid-November

Root for the Bobcats at Montana State University’s (MSU) football games! The season runs from the beginning of September to mid-November every year, and games are exciting for visitors and locals alike. Grab some Bobcat apparel downtown or simply don the school colors, blue and gold, to show your team spirit. If you want to see an extra rowdy game, don’t miss the Bobcats versus Griz game every year. MSU and the University of Montana are longtime rivals, making for a thrilling game to say the least.

Get Lost in a Maze | Throughout October

You’re in luck: you have two options near Bozeman for that quintessential fall maze experience! Head to Bozeman Maze to find your way through stacks of hay bales, visit the pumpkin patch, or play one of the many games. Meander through stalks of corn at the Montana Corn Maze in Manhattan, just 20 minutes from Bozeman. Kids will have a blast riding the train, playing mini golf, or checking out any of the other farm activities!

 

Enjoy Fall Activities at Rocky Creek Farm | Throughout October

Head to Rocky Creek Farm for an assortment of fun fall activities through October 31st. Check out Gallatin Valley Botanical’s farmstand or make a free reservation to visit the farm. During one of these visits, you can see the animals, hop in a hay wagon for a ride to the apple orchard, and pick your very own pumpkin from the pumpkin patch.

 

Attend the Bozeman Fall MADE Fair | October 6 & 7

Shop ‘til you drop at the Bozeman Fall MADE Fair, a market with goods from local and regional artisans. Visit the Brick Breeden Field House to check out products from over 190 vendors on October 6th and 7th. If you want to beat the crowds, you can purchase early bird tickets. Or, enter for free from 10AM to 4PM both days.

Celebrate Oktoberfest | October 7

Grab your lederhosen and get ready to celebrate Oktoberfest at Rockin’ TJ Ranch on October 7th. Enjoy brats and beers accompanied by a local comedy troupe, the Brewery Follies, for an entertaining evening. Tickets are $75, and you can call (406) 585-0595 to reserve your spot.

Or, you can celebrate fall events in Bozeman all month long at Bacchus Pub! Visit the pub anytime between September 30th and October 31st for German-inspired dishes and drinks.

 

Learn About Birds at the Bridger Raptor Festival | October 7 & 8

Fall is an important time for bird migration, and you can join in on this exciting time of year by attending the Bridger Raptor Festival! Raptors are birds of prey, and this event highlights the largest known Golden Eagle migration in the United States. You can attend nature walks, look for raptors, listen to informative talks, and more. In 2023, this fun event takes place over the weekend of October 7th and 8th.

 

Jog (or Walk) the Last 5K Brew Run | October 11

Sign up for the last 5K Brew Run of the season on October 11th. Every summer, Bozeman Running Company hosts a series of 5K runs that start and end at different Bozeman breweries. There’s usually one run per month, and of course, they all end with a free beer.

Drink Regional Beers at the Montana Fresh Hop Festival | October 14

Sample fresh-hopped beer from 30+ Montana breweries during the Montana Fresh Hop Festival! Beer lovers can flock to the Gallatin Valley Fairgrounds on October 14th for their chance to partake in this seasonal style of beer. Attendees will also get the chance to listen to live bluegrass music and grab something to eat from local food trucks. Plus, each ticket comes with a commemorative beer glass!

In the winter, you’ll have to park further from the trailhead, which adds about 3 miles.

 

Participate in the DogDash Monster Mash 3k | October 15

Participate in the DogDash Monster Mash 3k on October 15th for a day full of fun with your furry friends. Kids and adults alike will love watching dogs compete in the costume contest, ice cream eating competition, and wiener dog race. Owners and their dogs can also complete the 3k obstacle course together. And for every ticket sold, DogDash donates a leash/collar to an animal shelter in need.

 

Celebrate Halloween at the Downtown Trick or Treat | October 31

On October 31st, kids can participate in a safe trick or treating experience downtown. Over 150 businesses will be handing out candy from 4:00 to 6:00PM, complete with spooky decorations. Join in on the fun!

 

Shop, Drink, and Dine at Ladies’ Night | November 16

Want to get an early start on your holiday shopping? Grab your friends and head downtown for Ladies’ Night. From 5:00 to 8:00PM on November 16th, you can take advantage of retail sales and specials on dinner and drinks. This is one of the most anticipated nights of the year, so don’t miss out!

 

Sign Up for Huffing for Stuffing | November 23

Run for a cause during the annual Huffing for Stuffing race, which takes place every year on Thanksgiving! Choose between a 5K, 10K, or Kids’ Run, and help raise money for the Gallatin Valley Food Bank.

 

Shop Local on Small Business Saturday | November 25

On November 25th, residents are encouraged to shop local for Small Business Saturday. Many downtown businesses will have deals for the day, or even the whole weekend. Help support the local economy and shop small this holiday season.
